Description
Manufactured in Japan in 1996, this Yamaha C-6 Conservatory Grand Piano is a fantastic choice for any concert venue, church, or home. Measuring 6’11” in length, the instrument is in exceedingly fine condition and is virtually like new. Our technicians will perform extensive action regulation, voicing and multiple tunings. Resulting in an instrument that is a step above many of its competitors and can easily stand up to the performance of pianos costing 2 -3 times the asking price of the C6.
Boasting a rich, clear quality of tone with a deep and powerful bass, these instruments are as at home on a concert stage as they are in a pianist’s music room.
The cabinet is finished in a rich, hand-rubbed ebony satin finish for the ultimate in durability and lasting looks. The inner rim is finished in natural mahogany. The interior of the piano features a full-length, rib-reinforced, solid spruce soundboard, a hard maple pin block, and music wire made from the highest-quality steel and copper.
The action features original Yamaha factory action parts, and the hammers show very little wear and could easily be mistaken for brand new. Our piano technicians will spend hours voicing and regulating this piano. Yamaha Conservatory pianos have the trademark clarity but also boast a full, rich tone that stands apart. The action is silky smooth, incredibly responsive, and accurate. As the C6 is a late arrival to the Yamaha line up of conservatory grands, many artists and technicians find the C6 to be the sweet spot between the c5 and the c7.
Keyboard and action
Both of the 88-note black and white keys are in excellent condition. The sharps are real ebony, and the white keys are Ivorite, which feel great under the fingers. The keys are significantly longer on a piano of this size, compared to the C3 for example, so the player has even greater control over what goes on at the hammer end!
Hammers and strings
Hammers have had very little playing time and/or use, and there is no evidence of string indentations on the hammers, which in turn indicates the Piano was played very minimally but was tuned and maintained regularly until the late 2010s. The Strings are in excellent condition, rich, and the piano has a powerful tone.
Sound board
Excellent condition, solid spruce. No separation, splitting, or cracks, perfect condition.
Case
Stunning hand-rubbed ebony satin finish. In excellent condition throughout – we will perform a hand-rubbed 0000 steel-wool rubdown to the entire case to restore its original factory classic look.
If you are looking for a C6 without breaking the bank, consider this recent arrival. Very little wear, with new strings, tuning pins, stringing felts, and pin bushings, plus an entire interior and exterior cleaning and detailing to NEW standards, would rival a brand-new one!
