Refurbished Steinway M w/ all new action.

This 5’7 “grand piano has been expertly refurbished with the highest level of care and craftsmanship. This instrument features an Exclusive Steinway hexagrip pin block, Diaphragmatic Soundboard Design, and an all-new accelerated Steinway action.
Steinway patented each of these features and continues to produce them to this day.

1)    The Hexagrip pinblock: Several factors contribute to a piano maintaining a consistent tune, but the most important is the construction of the wrest plank, also known as the pinblock.

2)    Diaphragmatic Soundboard.  The quality of tonal resonance is directly linked to the quality of the Soundboard. The soundboard is considered the soul of the piano.

3) Accelerated action:    Lab tests have proven that the keys of a Steinway repeat 13% faster than the keys of any other piano, and with that increased rate of repetition comes a more sensitive and responsive keyboard, something that pianists of any level can tangibly appreciate.

 Avery only uses all original replacement parts made by Steinway/Renner and employs factory-trained Steinway technicians.   The piano also features the original factory soundboard, bridges, and keytops, all in excellent original condition.

Measuring 5’7″ in length, the Steinway & Sons Model M Grand Piano is considered by many to be the standard-setting ‘baby’ grand piano. First introduced at the New York Steinway Factory in 1911, these medium-sized instruments offer a balance between manageable size and high-level performance. Upon acquiring this instrument, our technicians found it to be in excellent structural condition. This, combined with its relatively young age, made it suitable for refurbishment.  The original key coverings have been retained, and the solid ebony sharps restored. All new S&S action has been regulated and voiced to allow for a responsive touch and the classic Steinway quality of tone.

New Mapes bass strings and custom-manufactured copper-wound bass strings installed

 These were fitted into the original hard maple pinblock. The piano’s original solid spruce soundboard has been retained.
